Each year, approximately 9 tonnes of plastic waste ends up in our oceans. As part of National Geographic’s global ‘Planet or Plastic’ initiative, Protecting Paradise captures the journey of four individuals who spend their lives in and around the ocean; as they set out on a trip to the remote northern Great Barrier Reef to gather evidence and turn their cameras on an issue largely unknown to Australians. This film and its associated assets served as a global call-to action in support of Parley & Corona’s successful ‘100 Island’s Protected’ campaign.
